Who we are
A national association defending ecological interests
Action pour la Justice Environnementale (AJE) is a national association defending the ecological interests of communities facing environmental harm. As Senegal becomes ever more integrated into the global economy, environmental concerns in the country are growing sharper by the day.
To that end, AJE contributes through environmental education, sustainable ecological initiatives and the fight against environmental inequality. Beyond advocacy and dialogue, AJE actively brings environmental matters before the Senegalese courts.
How we work
Action research, education and strategic litigation
Through action research, environmental education and strategic litigation, AJE stands in solidarity with all communities affected by the human-driven degradation of their environment. By supporting these communities, we help analyse public policies and propose sound reforms for effective environmental protection.
Through a participatory approach, we work to raise awareness and mobilise citizens so that they become agents of change. In doing so, we aspire to establish environmental justice that guarantees healthy, sustainable living conditions for all, today and for future generations.
